Coming Soon to DVD

By Joshua Thomas

Wonder Woman (2009) Featuring the voices of Keri Russell, Nathan Fillion, Alfred Molina, Rosario Dawson, Virginia Madsen, Oliver Platt, Vicki Lewis, David McCallum – Directed by Lauren Montgomery

All the world is waiting for you, but they won’t have to wait much longer. On March 3rd, DC Comics and Warner Brothers will add the original Amazon Princess to its expanding list of animated feature films. Producer Bruce Timm, who revitalized DC Comics animation in the early nineties with the groundbreaking Batman: The Animated Series, continues to leave his mark of excellence on the all new original animated feature. Based on the overwhelming success of past animated features Superman: Doomsday, Justice League: A New Frontier, and Batman: Gotham Night, and hoping to capitalize on the theatrical release of DC’s The Watchmen, Wonder Woman will serve as an origin story for the Amazonian warrior and hopefully as a catalyst to get the long-delayed feature film back in motion. On the mystical island of Themyscira, a proud and fierce warrior race of Amazons have raised a daughter of untold beauty, grace and strength: Princess Diana, voiced by Felicity star Keri Russell. When an Army fighter pilot, Steve Trevor, played by Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nathan Fillion, crash-lands on the island, the rebellious and headstrong Diana defies Amazonian law by accompanying Trevor back to civilization. Meanwhile, the god of War Ares (voiced by Spiderman 2 star Alfred Molina) has escaped his imprisonment at the hands of the Amazonians and has decided to exact his revenge - intending to start a world war that will not only last for centuries but will wipe out every living being on the planet, starting with the Amazons! It is up to Princess Diana to save her people and the world by using her gifts and becoming the ultimate Wonder Woman! So do a Wonder Woman twirl and get ready for the superhero with all the right accessories.
